Why This Matters
Without hot water, dishes cannot be sanitized and hands cannot be properly washed. Allows survival of viruses and bacteria that cause foodborne illness.
What Was Observed
Observed an inoperable hot water handle at the handwash sink between the food preparation and three-compartment sinks downstairs. Repair the hot water handle to provide hot water under pressure to the sink. Observed an inoperable hot water handle at the three-compartment sink downstairs. The operator turns on the sink from the hot main beneath the sink. Repair the hot water handle to provide hot running water under pressure to the sink.
