Mice produce 50 droppings daily containing Salmonella and hantavirus. Cockroaches carry 33 bacteria types and 6 parasitic worms. Rats spread plague and leptospirosis.
ELIMINATE rodents from the facility. REMOVE droppings and clean and sanitize affected areas. INSPECT the office area for entry points and seal any found with a durable repair (do NOT use spray foam) and MONITOR for activity. SEND a copy of your next pest report to Katie.dea@sfdph.org. - Observed a few rodent droppings on the floor of the office/closet area. COS - cleaning was occurring at time of inspection.

Sewage contains billions of pathogens including hepatitis A, norovirus, and E. coli. One tablespoon contains 100 million bacteria. Causes immediate severe illness.
Observed employee touch trash can and then start to continue food preparation without washing hands as they started to reach for a knife that they were previously using to cut cucumber. COS - inspector stopped employee and instructed them to wash hands and clean and sanitize the knife. Hands were then washed in the warewash sink and hands dried on a wiping cloth. COS - education provided on proper handwashing; knife was cleaned and hands were re-washed in the hand sink using soap and paper towel
