Why This Matters
Mice produce 50 droppings daily containing Salmonella and hantavirus. Cockroaches carry 33 bacteria types and 6 parasitic worms. Rats spread plague and leptospirosis.
What Was Observed
Observed rodent droppings on the floor sides throughout the back of the basement around the dry storage area behind/under shelving (on both the right and left sides, especially around the rack with canned tomato goods). Further inspect the facility floors for any additional signs of rodent activity. Thoroughly remove all rodent droppings from the facility (basement) floors. Why This Matters
Clutter provides harborage for rodents and cockroaches. Cardboard harbors cockroach eggs. Each egg case contains 30-40 nymphs.
What Was Observed
Observed multiple openings in the walls of the basement (under the staircase, around the dish machine, right side wall at the last step of the stairs)and at the dish machines on the ground floor. Thoroughly inspect the facility walls and floors, and ceilings for any gaps, holes, openings, and entry points. Seal any gaps, openings, holes, and entry points in the facility with rodent proof materials (expandable foam is not an approved material on it's own).
